Life Lesson 104: The Power of Your Attitude

Good Afternoon Readers,

I hope that your day is going well. Today, I am writing you from my vacation spot/conference location: Seattle, Washington. I am in this city because I am attending the SC11 Conference. This vacation is much needed especially with everything that is going on in my life right now. But today, I would like to speak about the power of your attitude. Many people do not realize that their attitude can determine their aptitude in life.

Here are some tips that you can use to keep your attitude in check:
1. Stop walking around with an attitude all the time. If you continue this behavior, people will think that you are mean and they won't want anything to do with you. Start wearing a smile and over time, you will begin to see that life is not as hard as you think it is.
2. Please remember that the world does not owe you anything. You can have a bad attitude but your world will not change until you change your attitude. When you look around, you will realize that you have life, health, and strength and you have no reason to be depressed about your life.
3. The attitude that you have is the same attitude that your children see everyday. If you want your kids to turn out like you, continue to show them more of your bad attitude/behavior. If you want your children to have the best out of life, you need to show them that it pays to have a good attitude. Children need to know that they are capable of leading positive lives but as adults, we must be willing to set the standard for our children to follow.
4. Your attitude will determine where you will end up in life. If you have a bad attitude and you don't like to follow directions, you will find yourself living a mediocre life and you will have many issues because you don't like to listen to other people. But if you have a positive attitude and you are accepting of constructive criticism, you will find yourself living a life that will allow you to pursue all of your dreams. Attitude is important and it can determine your future success and failure.
5. Your attitude can determine whether you will get a better job or not. In life, people think that they are entitled to certain things just because they say so. Life does not work like this. If you are known for getting loud with people and showing out in public, you may not get the position that you are applying for. The way that you act with your friends should not be the way that you act at the workplace. If you want to get a certain job, you need to put in your time and work hard just like everyone else does.
6. Your attitude will determine if people want to follow you in a leadership position. People always talk about being team players but some people are more about themselves than anything else. If you want to lead a group effectively, you need to see yourself as equal to the people that you are working for. When you speak with your team members, be calm and collected so that you can complete the project on time. No one wants to follow a tyrant......so check your attitude before you try to lead others somewhere.
7. Your attitude can determine whether your relationship will work or not. In life, some people think that they are in charge of everything and the other person should not have a voice. When you are in a relationship, there should be two opinions if a decision needs to be made. But if your attitude is bad, it won't be long before the other person leaves you. Aim to have a positive attitude as you deal with your relationship partner.
8. Your attitude can determine if you will reach your future goals. If you think that you can't achieve your dreams, you will not achieve them. Negative thinking is the best way to fail in pursuing your dreams. Today, make a change in your attitude so that you can complete your goals in a timely fashion.
9. Your attitude can have a reflection on your blessings. Too many people think that God should bless them just because they are alive. Well, blessings don't just fall out of the sky; God has to decide on whether he will give you those blessings or not. A bad attitude could cause you to become prideful. In that respect, you could miss out on some of the blessings that were intended for you to receive. No matter what happens, remember that your blessings come from God and he is the only one who can decide on if you deserve your blessings.
10. Lastly, your attitude can play a major part in the way that you respond to other people. In life, some people only speak to certain people based on the way they dress or the education that they have. In their minds, everyone else can kick rocks. If you have this attitude, please know that people will not warm up to you. No matter what a person has on or the degree that they have or don't have, you should treat other people just like you want to be treated. Your attitude in your first meeting with people will determine if they want to be bothered with you or not. Key Phrase: Keep it positive at all times.

When you have an attitude, it can push people away from you.
It's time to change your attitude for the better.
