I hope that your day is going well. My day began on an interesting note. I woke up thinking about men and whether they know what they want or not. Too often, women think that men know what they want and they feel that they should be able to articulate their wants and needs to them. Knowing what you want in life and in a relationship is important in finding what you need in your life.
Here are some things that Men want in their relationships:
1. Men want to be respected in their relationships. They want to be with someone who treats them with the utmost respect. When a man enters the room, he expects his lady to speak to him in a conversational tone. Hollering and screaming is the quickest way to get a man to close his ears and his heart to you. Learn to respect the man even if you feel that he does not deserve to be respected. In order to get respect, you must give respect.
2. Men want relations. Let's be honest here: Men are looking for women who are willing to understand them and give them the sex that they desire. In life, there are times when men do not speak up on what they need sexually and that causes confusion in the relationship. Men, be upfront and honest with what you want so that the lady in your life can fulfill your needs and desires.
3. Men want affection from the woman in their life. A hug or a kiss can go a long way. An extended hug could relieve the stress that is building in a man's mind. Ladies, be willing to show your man some affection when he comes home. Make sure that he knows that you love him and you don't mind being affectionate with him.
4. Men want to be appreciated. Too often, men go through their days and no one tells them that they appreciate them for what they do at work or at home. Ladies, if your man is a hard worker, tell him "Baby, thank you for working so hard on your job". If your man is a great provider, tell him "Honey, thank you for providing for us each and every day". A little appreciation can go a long way in a man's mind.
5. Men want women who know what they want out of life. A quick turnoff for a man is a woman who does not know where her life is headed. If a man sees this, he will think "How can she help me guide my life if she is not guiding her own life?" Ladies, we have to find ways to direct our lives so that we are on the path to reaching our goals. In reaching our life goals, we can support our men so that they can reach their life goals as well.
6. Men want women who know how to listen. As women, we want to be heard because we want to make sure that we get our point across. However, men want the same thing from us. They want us to listen to them without interrupting them. Too often, we try to give them advice and then we get upset when they don't want to take our advice. But in listening, we must listen with our ears open and our mouths closed.
7. Men want women who are similar to their mothers. An immature man would marry a woman that is just like his mother because his mother put up with his foolishness and now he will have a wife who will do the same thing. Sadly, these men have left their mother's house and married their "mothers". Shame! A mature man would want a woman who has similar traits like his mother but he is not looking for a second mother. He is grown and he knows how to stand on his own feet. He does not need another mother....he needs a woman who is strong, successful, and she loves him for who he is.
8. Men want a woman who is independent yet inter-dependent in the relationship. These days, men want a woman who can work with him so that their home and personal life are balanced. They want a woman who has her own life and her own friends. A man wants to have his own life and his own friends as well. They will have common friends as well. Most men do not want clingy women because they need lots of attention and they tend to catch an attitude when the man wants to be with his friends. In any event, men want a woman who can live her life without being overly dependent on him for everything.
9. Men want a woman who can dress as a lady. On TV, men see women who are scantily dressed all the time. But those women are airbrushed and their bodies are adjusted in order for them to look a certain way. A man wants a woman who can dress like a lady should dress. Her outfit should compliment her frame.....not hug it tightly. Ladies, use etiquette when it comes to dress. No matter what you wear, you have to be comfortable wearing it when you are around your man. If it does not fit properly, now is a good time to go and get an outfit that fits the way it is supposed to fit.
10. Lastly, men want a woman that is educated. These days, it is hard to find a good job without some form of college degree/certificate. Men want a woman who is educated so that she can assist him as they make sound decisions in their home. Having an education will help both people to work out matters such as: buying a home, financing a child's college education, planning the monthly grocery bill, etc. In any event, it is important for both people to have some kind of education so that they can work together to make decisions that will affect their overall future and their family.
Do men know what they want?
Some men know what they want but others need more time to decide on what they want.
